‘Call of the King’

ARCHDIOCESE — The Vocation Office of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati hosted its inaugural "Call of the King" conference Sept. 21 at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood.

The event helped introduce the office’s St. Michael Prayer Warriors movement, which hopes to encourage vocations.

Father Anthony Brausch of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary addressed some 400 persons in attendance, speaking on personal holiness as an avenue for renewal in the church.

Deacon David Endres and Adam Puntel, seminarians for the archdiocese, spoke about their individual vocations with emphasis on how the prayers of the laity have helped and encouraged them.

St. Michael Prayer Warriors is a lay apostolate who agree to pray at least an hour each month for priests, seminarians and an increase in vocations. The apostolate offers a Parish Holy Hour program and a Family Prayer component, and the Prayer Warriors newsletter is published monthly and distributed electronically to parishes, seminarians, members and potential candidates for the seminary.
